Not a question but I found it strange

I don't really have a question but I found it strange that the Biostar M7NCD nForce2 mobo doesn't recognise HDDs above 127GB. I installed this with a 160GB Maxtor HDD and it registered as a 127GB HDD. Looks like it's time to flash the BIOS. Shouldn't Biostar have addressed this long ago? Using Windows XP Pro with SP1 installed.

Their site under FAQ says that Windows SP1 should address this but it hasn't for me. I'll try the software that came with the HDD.

maybe it is seeing 137gb but after formatting you get 128gb.....the whole determining factor is supposed to be the "ATA" standard....I was under the impression that "ATA 133" supported bigger drives than 137....cuz even the pci controller cards that come with those drives are "ata 133" cards....weird....there's no way the nforce2 board uses ata100 is there??

You have to make a seperate partition. It can't see more than ~137GB per drive.
