Batch File Help

How do I perform a "Quick Format" in a batch file without it asking for any user input?

what doesnt work about it? is it prompting you for something?

format c: /q /autotest

I tried it in numerous combinations and it kept saying invalid parameter.

Also, /autotest is not mentioned in the help file. I'm using Win2000 if that makes any difference.

help file schmelp file.....you ever hear of "undocumented commands"?? lol..there are tons of em, they dont show up in help files or when you go "format /?"

the only question would be the dos version with win2000...cuz not all parameters work with all versions etc..especially when we get to discussing NT versions of "dos"

it wont just do the /autotest by itself without the /q ?

Well it would just be the "windows 2000" version of dos....like when you look on this dudes page http://www.robvanderwoude.com/index.html (ok actually you have to click "batch files" then scroll to and click "format" to see what I mean.

over on the right he lists em....cuz I think when you are talking about w2000 and xp they arent pure "dos" prompts anyway.

Just curious..are there two different dos prompts in w2000?

isnt there a "cmd" and then also a "command" prompt?

try typing both of those in the run box and see if they both give a dos prompt....if so try the /autotest in both different versions.

what are you using, a spare hard drive? like "format d: /autotest"? (it is already partitioned right?)
