NES refurb project

ok i just dug my NES out of the closet and decided it was time to go back to the old school. so i hook everything up all i get is the blinking screen. so heres the thing i want to take it apart and refurb it and hopefully bring it back to its original condition. anyone know of any guides. or can any of you guys help me out?

well mine did that too and the guy at gamenutz told me to clean it really good with rubbing alchahol and a qtip it worked for a while with one of the games then it went back but you could try it mabey yours isnt as severe as mine was

I used to just SLAM the cartridge in and it would start working again. I instilled fear into mine so it would work properly.

well i found a guide. took out the cartridge slot and bent the pins works like new.

I always had this problem with with the NES. I had to use some rubbing alcohol and then wiggle the cartrdige until it played. Sometimes I had to use another cartridge to keep it pressed down just right.

I always used the Slam technique to get the cartridges to work again lol. I think I finally broke a few of them, but by that point u could buy replacements for like 5-10 dollars.

Lots of classics lol

If cleaning it doesn't work..

sometimes if its off by a bit you get the blinking screen...

If there are some contacts that are not touching, it happens also...

I took mine apart and finally got it working right....
