Testing a 5.1 speaker config?

I have a logitech z640 speakers hooked to my internal soundcard of asus a7n8x, and i tested the channels all were correct, left, right, left surround, right surround, center and sub, but when i pop up a dvd movie and choose I got sound only from the front and rear speakers and the center one is not making any sounds......

Its there a demo file or something where i can test out my speakers....

Thanks....

Happy New Year Folks....

Does the DVD player have any speaker settings? Maybe it is set for quad speakers.

In the nVidia Sound Control Panel, did you set the speaker number to [6 speakers] ?

Have you played the DVD using the default 5.1 audio track?

Are you sure the DVD has 5.1 audio?

yep i have 6 speakers on the control panel.... im sure there's where i tested the speakers....

but when im actually looking a movie i dont get center channel sound, I havent seen a full movie tought havent got enough time to do it this last week.....

For the DVD I think it only sends the signal to the sound card, but its a creative dvd 12X.... Im not at my home right now to get the complete model....

excellent! I'm glad you got it solved.

If you're courageous, you can visit Windows Update and check for any updated codecs for WMP in the 'Windows XP' section. (Although, if you'd rather not touch anything now that it works.. then let it go.)
