Cyberdrive Cd Rom not reading new CD

Hi there

Have recently purchased a new Cyberdrive 52x12x52x CD Burner and a new Cyberdrive 52x CD ROM. Problem is that when I put I new disk in the CD ROM and play a file let's say a movie and then eject the disk, the cd drive dosen't clear, i.e., if I put a new disk in it will still have the same directory and files from the previous disk. If I empty the drive and then click on it, it will then say "insert disk" which if I do, it will then read.

I'm running an A7V8X athlon 2.2 gig with 512Mb. The config currently is:

Primary IDE: 40 gig HD Master, Iomega Zip drive Slave
Seconday: Cyberdrive CD-ROM Master, Cyberdrive CD burner slave.

Both drives support UltraDMA although the Seconday IDE cable is NOT an UltraDMA cable & I wondered if this had anything to do with it?
