Anyway, So far this site seems to have the best -->notebook coolers what do you guys think? Waste of money? I feel like it would make a difference since now depend on my laptop for everything. Ok thanks for you help in advance.

I wouldn't buy one, it looks far too bulky and seems to defeat the purpose of a laptop(portability). Laptops are engineered to perform with in thermal specifications of the compnents and unless they use desktop components, that should never be a problem. If it is using desktop components, it might help, but I still dont think it's worth the bulk.

Yes, this is one thing I noticed and would be a problem with portability. Although I use my laptop at home as my "desktop" as well. It gets pretty hot especially when working on graphic intense stuff. I suppose this cooler would be more for home than portability but I just want it to cool my laptop and make it run cooler so it last longer. Thanks for your help.

its kind of an "at home" thing, my friends got an inspiron 8200 and it like burns his desk it gets so hot. Its prolly not a bad thing to have. You can get the same things cheaper at newegg tho. I think i saw one with 2 fans from newegg for 19 dollars not too long ago

You wouldn't use these coolers in a situation where portability is key - but most who require them feel that when they are at home and their notebook is running for an extended period of time, it gets uncomfortably hot.

Many of my classmates have that same laptop and I know what you mean by burning the table. While theirs is literally hot, my HP is warm but still it does get hot when graphic intensive stuff is going on. I've been looking at the "X" cooler or the Quad cooler. I'm still debating which one though. The X has two fans but is a lot more portable while the Quad has 4 fans which logically would seem to cool the most but not portable. Thanks

Oh one other thing is that to make sure the laptop gets cooled do you guys happen to know if these coolers would blow air or suck them from underneath?? I think my laptop sucks it from under and then blows it out the side and back. It seems like my laptop has the most fans too? two on the bottom left, one out the back and a radiator like port on the left side. Thanks

hmm, anyone ever acutaly used one of these?
if the laptop literally sits flat on top of the fans I'm not sure if air blowing against it would make much sense, almost seems like it would have to suck away to exhaust the air. If it was elevated a tad off the laptop then it seems like blowing the cool air from beneath onto the laptop would be the most efficient...

I'm using this one and I find it very useful from cooling and ergonomic view point. bit costlier when compare to others. You may get it at local microcenter outlets.

I actually found out that for the Quad Cooler it works to suck air and blow it out the back. At the same time my laptop sucks air from the bottom and blows it out the back.
