Misc Is it possible to improve the net speed?

Friends,

Don't scold me if it is already covered or if someone feels this as a stupid question. I am a novice to networking.

Y'day when I was surfing the web on my laptop using 802.11b wireless card, I noted that I am getting very good signal(not encrypted) from my neighbours wireless router(mine is encrypted) and I put one more 802.11b card in the other PC-CARD slot.

I configured and it started getting signals from that router too. I am able to toggle between two connections but I am not able use both together to improve(boost) the speed. I checked the speed with single connection and with two connections. No difference found. I saw two tcp/ip icons on desktop tray line(bottomeline) showing separate connections actively receiving/sending packets.

Forget about stealing neighbours wireless signal(my neighbour is my close friend and he is aware of that).

Now technically speaking, is there anyway to improve or make use of the connection from other ISP in addition to mine? BTW, connections are from different ISPs. Thanks

good question, lol. But I kind of doubt it. I would suggest you and he going in halves on one ISP but that would be illegal so I wont suggest it, lol.
