I was wondering if it was possable to use a gamepad(ps2 controller with a usb adapter) with COD. Or anyother game for that matter.

Hmmm.. it connects thru the USB port on the computer right?
(this are the things used for PS and N64 emulation right?).
If so, I think you can, I mean, Windows will recognize the controller as an USB adapter.

What you can do is set it up on the computer and test it with the joystick utility to see if all the buttons work. (they are suppossed to).

If you are still not convinced, you can try going to:

http://www.ngemu.com

and check the forums there (I think it is www.emuforums.com) and check if someone already made comments about this kind of products.! )

Yeah well ... I heard of using PS2 or N64 gamepads usually for emulation and not for PC games but like I said, these things use the USB interface so you probably can get away with it (that is if the game let's you customize the controls )

Probably not!
Check the control settings. If it lets you customize the controls where you can select any joystick buttons, you probably can use it but most First Person Shooters probably don't let you use joysticks (or in this case gamepads).

BTW, when you say COD you are reffering to Call of Duty right!!!

Hmmmm... I know there were utilities to map buttons to do certains things but I don't know if it will work in games (and I haven't heard of these utils in a long time either.).

Check the game message boards or the game troubleshooting page or something similar and check if there's a way to manually (by editing some .ini's or something) to map the buttons of a gamepad to the games commands.!
