batch file/WOL/standby questions....

Ok, I have this nice batch file....backs up my email identities, address book, and some folders to another comp on my lan....it makes a temporary "G" drive on the comp (thanks to Meese's batch file help)

Here is the question....if I let the backup comp go into standby....or if I set it to where the hard drives power down after a set amount of time....what will happen if I then run my batch file???

The nic is an Intel Pro100 management adapter, but its not specifically set with the little gay WOL cable etc.

What would happen if I let the hard drive power down and then try the batch file..would it just wake the drive up and then run the batch file?

Or, whats the best way to have this set up? The batch only takes a minute or so to run so I would probably run it several times a day.

What about WOL..is it hard to set up etc? Would the batch file wake it using WOL??

Thanks, JP

WOL would help if the computer is turned off. In your case it is already on so it would not be of value. I would guess that running the batch, while the hard drives were powered down, would still work as expected. Try it out and let us know.
