You dont need ECC ram for that chip! Only with the FX will you have to use ECC. Since the 3000+ model only implements single channel ram, you can get 1 1gb stick or 2 512's. Get a minimum of DDR400.

Nope. None of the regular 64's use dual channel. Only the FX-51 does, and you aint got the dough for that

Socket-754 wants unbuffered non-ECC RAM. Get the best you can, PC3200 welcome.

To put that right, Athlon-64FX require registered RAM. ECC is still optional. (Note: YMMV, depending on your particular board's BIOS implementation.)

If you check their website , you'll see it is owned by Micron, the same company that makes Crucial ram. It should be decent memory. Only takes a 10 second google to find that out

Yep registered mem is only criteria. ECC like Peter said is up to which mainboard you use. Like the nf2 for Xp's dont support ecc AT ALL. Im sure some FX boards will be similar but the mem controler is integrated within the cpu. So that kinda makes it up to amd what mem is or isnt to be used. Course the bios has a say in it too. And then the whole is the spd chip compat with my board deally. Again like the nforce2 quarks. Im sure Nf3 has its own issues just not may have it yet.
