Kids PSU sufficient for new sys?

I'm planning on getting tis new sys rig:

AMD XP 2500+ @ 3200+
2 x 512M DDR400 Kingston
160GB WD 7200 8MB HDD
19" Samsung 193T LCD
128MB Powercolor 9600XT
ABit NF7-S v2 nF2 m/b
Pioneer A06 DVD-RW

So.. I wuz planning on running a 330w PSU (Antec TruePower330) and I wuz wondering if it would be sufficient for my new rig? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated

The Antec 330 will be fine. 500 is overkill for that system, they are only needed for dual CPU computers!

The AMD and the Radeon will draw a lot, but other than that, I dont see much power draw. Normally I would say 330w is a tad low but since it's Antec, I don't forsee any problems.

Are you going to have a lot of fans in the case though?

I have almost the same setup, but with a 9800 Pro. I bought a 420w from ThermalTake (Very good).

I took the liberty of stopping by newegg and found the Antec for $55

And the thermalTake for only $49.

More for less since you aren't paying for name. Read the reviews, look at the specs and make the decision for yourself.

Hmm.. the Thermaltake 420w costs more than the Antec TruePower380 down here in Australia.. so any thoughts?

Should I get the Antec 330/380 or Thermaltake 420?

Don't worry, an Antec 330 will do the job.

to avoid asking this question in the future, get the thermaltake 420 or better 500W. it will save you a lot of worries if you intend to upgrade or add new hardware to your system. i have that same question before.. i realized it's better to get what is more than enough. and besides, you need extra cooling solutions for that monster AMD rig.

It'll be fine... 500watts is overkill... Don't need anything like that unless you're running a SCSI raid array with gigs of RAM and multi-processor system... I'm running a 350 watt enermax on a similar system with no problems at all...

2500+@3200+
2x512MB Corsair XMS
9800 Pro
5 PCI cards
6 case fans (2 lighted)
2 Cold Cathode lights
DVDRW
DVD-ROM
80 GB 8MB Cache HDD
