explorer.exe

does someone knows how to restart the explorer without restarting the whole system??

Win2k

i just stopped it with MS Task, but it doesnt restart on his own, so can i manually start it?

donnu if it was actually me, i used this thing where you can start programs, and just typed explorer in it, that was easy

not sure exactly what you are talking about?...starting windows explore??? I use win. XP so I am not to sure i am answering this correctly, but are you trying to open a folder called windows explorer?

Yes in task manager when you kill the process explorer.exe, you go to the tab "applications", you click "new task" type in explorer.
Then it should come back up but you may lose some taskbar icons if you have several.

or if you have a dos window open.. I know if you are in the windows dir it will restart the explorer.. by typing explorer and hitting enter...

You could technically change the shell to command.com or taskman.exe and start explorer from there. Not much of a reason to if you want to keep from having to restart though.

i just found out, the pc runs faster without that stupid explorer process, games work also better

does someone knows what it really does? except taskbar and desktop?
