dvd over a lan

is it possible.
I have my computer with a dvd drive(computer #1) and I have another computer identical minus the dvd drive(computer #2) drive now they are networked and can I watch a dvd on computer #2 by accessing the dvd drive on computer #1. If I can do this how do I go about doing this.

is there a program that will create a dvd image from the dvd I PURCHASED. what I would like to do is make a few images on my computer so I can watch some movies and I dont have to carry around the dvd movie disks all the time.
