WinXp service pack 1 unable to download

in runnin winxp pro and when i go to windows update and try to scan for updates i get this message (see attached). I just need windows service pack 1, is there anywehere u can download it WITHOUT USING windows update?

If not, any ideas on how to fix this problem.. i have installed the windows update application.. so i have no clue whats going wrong

well that was easy.. figures... first time in 10 formats and the dates not right... how does this affect windows update? i dont know and i dont care

I had this problem myself and ended up downloading the service pack to a Win NT server and then pulling it across to the XP station. After the first service pack install I did not have the problem anymore.

Dont they offer a standalone patch that you can download from their website (designed oringally for bigger networks), rather than running the windows update?

I dont have a link anymore but thats where I downloaded mine (its about 120 megs).

I was perplexed when I had this error before. It is strange that having the date set wrong can prevent you from updating windows. (I had my date set to 1975 or something silly, and windows update would give me that error.)

[sarcasm] I like how the Windows Update site is so descriptive on this error [/sarcasm]
