Kids Set up compute with defaults- not right

I finally upgraded my computer.
Asus MB a7n8x-x
512mb ddr ram
front side buss speed jumper on default location 400/333/266
I let cmos auto detect cpu etc...
Installed amd 2500
See attatchment. Auto detect is not giving me proper speeds for this cpu.

when you say jumper is on default....what makes you think that is right? Maybe default is 100fsb and it needs to be on 166?

Or default is 100/133 and the other setting is 166/200 or something like that.....what does the manual say about the jumper?

The jumper is almost always the culprit because everything else can auto detect itself.

edit------------------------------------------

ok, nevermind, lol...I looked at the manual and it says the default is for 400/333/266 and the other jumper position is for 200 only....in that case it almost looks like the jumper IS in the wrong place....are you sure its on the default position? It should be on pins 1-2

looks like in the bios the default is 100mhz and maybe you have to set it to what you want......on the "advanced menu" under "advanced chipset"..see where the fsb is set....(though it should have autodetected) ..I assume for that cpu it should be 166.

page 2-15 of manual
