download problems

sometimes when i download a file... ususally a zip
it doenst ask me to tell it where to go...
it just automatically downloads into the temp folder....
and then opens automatically
this is really anoying me...
any1 else get this...
how do i fix it??

What OS are you using? Any download manager programs?

win xp pro
no i dont have any download managers...
i know of download accelerator...
i dont want to use it...
there has to be a way to turn this option off...

Mostlikely you are using WinZip, and the program thinks you want to open the file and not download. One thing you can do is, is right click and do a save as, or press and hold shift while clicking on the link for the file
