how do i disable dvdplay.exe in win2k?

ARG! assistance would be appreciated....

this is highly annoying, whenever i put in a dvd movie, the default dvd player for win2k (c:\winnt\system32\dvdplay.exe) always wants to autoplay it, it wont let my other programs autoplay. so how exactly do i go about disabling this exe? i already looked in add/remove windows components and i cant uninstall it, but i also dont want to just delete it and then end up with error messages and the like. please and thank you

Folder Options->File Types->Edit DVD and tell it to use the program you want.
