is P4 willamette not compatiable with intel 865pe?

hi, i read some where (can't remember where exactly) that the socket 478 p4s with the willamette core are not compatiable with the intel 865 chipset because it has a vcore of around 1.7. is this true? i need to know because im thinking of upgrading my mobo and ram only and keeping my p4 which has a willamette core.
