optorite bragging!

I know I shouldn't use this forum to brag, but I just burnt a 1200mg data dvd-r in only 17 hours 21 minutes!

My setup for this feat is
a new setup of win2003 server
30 gig hdrive
2000mhz athalon
768mg mem

I've not been able to beat this with this wonderfull drive, so I plan on sending it back to it's seller so as not to let them miss out on such a wonderfull performer.
(I've tried the POJ in othe systems and other os's, they always locked up..)

Which model # are you using and which firmware version?
What brand media?
I have no problems with my DD-203.

I've probbably just gotten a bum drive, I've heard from others that they don't have the same problems. I was a bit suspicious of the drive anyway as when I received it from new egg it wasn't sealed and the drive wasn't in a bag and it was missing its sample media.

Well, the RMA process should be painless enough then. One of the reasons I bought mine from Newegg instead of Livewarehouse.
Speaking of which, make sure you talk to them about receiving credit on the shipping charges. Out of close to 400 orders with them the 2 times I had to send items back they credited my account for the shipping charges, except a case on which they reimbursed me 25.00 out of 34. and change.

BTW, might want to take a look at the Optorite DD0401 8x unit. I've seen it for as low as 135.00 shipped.
Of course the unit you have now might have left a sour taste in your mouth towards Optorite products.
