Another router problem

been using a belkin 4-port dsl/cable router for nearly a year now

just recently i have been experirencing frequent losses of connection on the network pc only, not the main pc.

there is no reason for it, as far as i can see, not using any particular program, it just disconnects, and then 10 secs later reconnects. its nothing to do with the firewall, as it happens whether its on or off (both the router firewall, and the software firewall)

its not a BIG problem just a little annoying.

any ideas?

Check the network settings on the PC that's disconnecting. Just to ensure there isn't any weird settings on it.

Assuming you are on a "wired" network...(as I am) you could be experiencing a data loss there...

Check for;

make sure your cable(s) arent too close or wrapped up with power cords.

Check to see if your cable is having to go around a magnetic field...tv's, stereo, refrigerator, etc...anything that uses a transformer, which acts as a magnet. This will definitely cause problems with the data travelling on your ethernet cables.

Keeping your cable(s) away from all power cords is pretty much impossible...I just try to keep them atleast an inch or two away...but the really strong fields are a must...

IF none of the above seems to be the case...see if replacing the cable helps..
