dvd player support for dvd+-r/rw ?

this may be an odd question, but ive just recently purchased a dvd burner (plextor 708A) and am still struggling to pick a preferred media type - or +

by any chance has anyone stumbled upon sites or forums that discuss what formats home dvd players support
(sony, panasonic, etc...)

any input will be very much appreciated, and i wont be chapped if no one responds

-FIN

http://www.vcdhelp.com

Has lots of user reviews of what models will play what format. VCD/SVCD/DVD-r/DVD+r/mp3/anything

great resource for all video encoding.

If you are wanting to back up movies, I would go with the DVD-R format. It works good for me and people at Best Buy and Frys said it is the main movie format.

I use +R, works for everything for me, Now adays i dont think there's much difference, get a -+RW burner (not much more in cost) if your unsure, checkout the deals section, one comes up every so often.
