Call of Duty or BF 1942?

I was looking around EB games today and I couldn't make a decision as to weather I should buy Battlefield 1942 or Call of Duty. I've seen both good and bad reviews for both, and the prices were identical because EB was selling CoD for a holiday price of $40. Which game has better single campains/multiplayer? What kind of graphics would I see from a geforce 4?

I think since you have a lower end graphics card you might want ot try BF1942. CoD is really new and most likely takes a better graphics card to use then BF1942. Also, I don't think CoD has vehicles, BF1942 does and it makes it real fun. I'm not really sure about CoD having vehicles but somebody here has probaly played it and can tell you the right answer.

Rand, you are way off in that assumption. A lower end graphics card will work much better with CoD.

BF is a large scale multiplayer, it pushes my ti4200 to the limit. It is a fun game, many things to do planes, tanks, infantry.

CoD is small scale multiplayer, no vehicles. Both are excellent games. The bottom line is, are you looking for large scale, or close combat?

If you have an MX cvard, then yeah, what he said.

If you have a Ti card (GF4 4200, 4400, or 4600), then you can play CoD easily (lower detail, but still good).

I have only played CoD, and I must sy it's one of the best games I have ever playerd...period. It's absolutely amazing.

Oh ok. BF1942 is good but it is very large scale but if it has vehicles it needs to be, It was hard adjusting since I was use to playing DoD and SoF2. Mainly BF1942 I kind of just piss around and play with the vehicles. I wish someone would make some smaller scale maps for BF1942. I think the smallest one I've played is Berlin, and thhe only vehicles are tanks. I just got $445 dollars in dimes from my Grandpa so I'm thinking about using some to buy CoD and try it out myself.

I've been playing BattleField 1942 ever since it came out and I have to say it was one of the best games I ever played. I do believe it is a little less demanding on graphics then COD since when I used to have my TI 4200 it ran BF9142 fine at high detail but when I tried it on COD it was kinda . But either way their both VERY good games and its basically whatever you want to do. There is a lot of expansions and mods out for BF1942 like Desert Combat and Eve of Destruction along with Secret Weapons of WW2 and Road to Rome(Kinda old). Have fun making a decision

I've seen both good and bad reviews for both (and just about any other game for that matter). Maybe I'll stick with bf1942 since its a little more dated and i can get one of those superpacks that comes with the expansions. Thanks for the help.

Road to Rome is ok, but I got the Deluxe Edition so it came with it. I played the Secret Weapons Demo and it sucked. Stuff this seems to fake to be used in WWII and kind of lame. Stick with BF1942 and if you like it a lot only get Road to Rome.
