recommended digital camera

I recently received a digital camera for Christmas but am not sure if I want to exchange it or keep it. It was an Olympus D560 Zoom Camera with 3.2MP and 3x optical zoom.

Now I'm looking for a camera that has these same specs or better and I'm looking to spend around $300. I will go up to around $400 if it is a good enough camera. I would like a camera that has lot's of features including decent ISO settings and good focusing with close ups. What I'd really like is a camera with SLR like features but is also high quality. It doesn't have to be an SLR camera just a good camera for the price.

I've looked extensively on sites like www.dpreview.com but was wondering if there were any photo buffs out there with opinions. Thanks.

i have a Nikon coolpix 3100 3.2 mp and im very pleased with it new egg has them now for$289 price just came down it was $350 a few weeks ago

i was thinking about the A70 i found it for 268 shipped at a decent rated company.(name slipped my mind for a moment) it was either beach camera or buydig.com?
