mysql host address??????

im trying to install a portal script on my server and in its autoinstaller it asks for the address of my mysql host. what do i put there? my ip address? i tried that and it doesnt work. what should i put?

nevermind lol, i just put localhost and it worked, yeah i know im a little slow sometimes

I remember when I first installed Apache/MySQL/PHP on my server. Oh dang did that give me a heart ache. It took me over a week of researching and trial and error. But now I can do everything in like 5 mins. Back then I hardly even knew what an IP address was!

Oh yeah and whenever you are hosting stuff yourself all on one server, localhost will usually work.
