I'm using the new DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta and I'm really new to backing up and burning DVDs. Should I leave all the compression on automatic for the best bet. And when I put no compression the top bar turns red. Does this mean I'm over the GB limit?

And after I rip the DVD will I be able to burn it with just about anything? Also, do you think my normal DVD player downstairs will be able to read DVD-R or only my computer one?

On my dvds I want to back it up exactly how the normal DVD is. Except if thier are extra languages I'll take them off. Meet the Parents only has english though.

Is 52% compression ok and will I really see that much of a loss?

You can do a good ammount of compression but I tried never to go over 20% when using DVDshrink. Check out the guides I have in the Articcles section.

Yes, your guides are good and I followed your directions except I used the newer version of DVDShrink. I think you should explain Nero Burning Rom and bit more. I just got it today and was confused for a while.

well I am in the process of moving right now so It will be a while before I could do any add ons. Plus I have never fully gone through using nero so even I dont know how to do it really till I try. I assume if you use the wizard and set it to use a blank DVD media and set it up for a video project it wont be hard as you should just have to add the VOBs that you have from DVDshrink to the VIDEO_TS folder.
