DNS "records"

What "records" go with what?

HTTP - A (I think)
FTP -
MAIL - MX (I think)

Any other useful ones?

here we go..a list for win2000 anyway http://is-it-true.org/nt/nt2000/atips/atips55.shtml

the terms I remember most from school are

ptr = pointer records
soa = start of authority records
srv = Service locator record (or stevie ray vaughn)

another list http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/rr.html

of course, I must admit, I have no clue what any of these are for, lol...beyond just a general idea of what dns does.
