Linksys + Battle.net
It seems many people have had the same problem, and believe me, I've searched thoroughly within this board to find the solution, and so far have come up unsuccesful.
To reiterate, I'm having problems having people join my custom games in Battle.net through WarCraft 3. Actually, I can get people who DON'T have a firewall or router to join, but people that do have a router, can not join. So basically, any router to router connection results in failure.
So, what I'm thinking is, either disable the firewall altogether from the Linksys router (BEFSR41 model) or allow access to the IP of my friend(s) who want to join.
As I've said, I've done everything that I can think of to make this work, settings changed out the wazoo. If anyone can help me out with this, I would GREATLY appreciate this, as this problem has been going on for well over a year now. Thank you!!

You need to open up port 6112 for WC3 games. http://faqs.thehelper.net/battlenet.php
I don't know how to do it for your particular router, but I think you start by opening up http://192.168.1.1 on your web browser. Then you have to put in the password (the factory default is 1234 I think for Linkysys). Then find "Forwarding" somewhere in there. Once you find it, open up port 6112.

tgxiii, Forwarding only forwards the port it doesn't open up it. I'm wondering too how to open the ports on my Linksys router eventhough it basically has the same effect.

Oh and if you forward the port forward it to your servers LAN IP. This can be found by going on your server and opening up the Command Prompt and typing "ipconfig" without quotes. Oh yeah and to get to Command Prompt type "command" without quotes in Run.

Maybe I was using the wrong terms. I meant forward port 6112. I had the same problem with WC3 when I got my Linksys BEFWS114 and forwarding that port solved the problem for me.

I'm pretty sure opening a port just allows traffic to come in and out normally but when you forward a port, that "traffic" is forwarded directly to on computer.

Here is where I found out about port 6112: http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=awr0655p
I don't know what you're trying to say. All I know is that I forwarded port 6112 and that made me able to let people join my custom games on WC3.

I did, tgxiii. I did that, and I went to the "port triggering" section at the router's settings, and put in the Battle.net port values. Linksys used to have a page up about it, but I can't find it now.
Anyway, to restate, I can create games just fine, and most people will be able to join. The problem comes into play when I want someone who has a similar router join my game. That is, if someone just has a straight connection, then they can join. Hope that makes a little more sense.

I think your problem with people joining your server is probaly a problem with the other people not you. They may need ot have their ports opened or forwarded too.
