Gaming Will I be able to install my graphics card on new MB

I recieved my new MB today, ASUS A7n8x-x. In the manual for the MB under specifications summary, Expansion slots as I understand it, it says I can use 8X (1.5v only) in AGP slot.
I have a PNY Verto 64MB DDR RAM geforce4 Ti4200 AGP graphics card which I bought about a year ago or less. I read through the graphics card manual but did not see anything about the card voltage. Will I be able to use this graphics card with this MB?

yeah..all the 8x boards have to support 4x also. So you are good to go.

Will I have to disable the AGP 8X support in the bios or will it be ok left enabled?

It wouldn't hurt either way, while it maybe wise to turn it off, leaving it enabled wont be a problem.

Seems like it would auto select the right thing....I think there may be some slight differences in the tabs on the bottom of the video cards.......I think the main thing they have that 8x disable for in the bios is if you have an 8x card but for some reason just want to run it at 4x.

You have to think "backwards compatible" and "idiot proof" when you think of how component manufacturers think...they want this stuff to just bolt in and go...so like 99% of stuff nowadays is just straight plug and play....if anything the modern stuff will default to a lower level of performance until you PURPOSELY set it to the proper speed....for instance A K7S5A board with an Athlon and 133mhz fsb.....if you slap the athlon in and boot (or reset the bios) it will be running at 100mhz fsb until you PURPOSELY set it to 133.

They generally have to have things set in the safest most foolproof way....cuz the people that sued mcdonalds for makin' em fat might be building a comp..who knows.

Or the lady who spilled coffee on herself at McDonalds. I want to go up to the lady and slap her. Then sneak off with some of her money!
