DVD will not play on Xbox or DVD player

I've never encountered this before. I got an Eagles concert DVD for christmas, but both my xbox and standard dvd player are unable to read it. This is the first time either have been unable to read a brand new undamaged disk. I've searched the box and all documentation that came in it and I've found no specail format or anything that would cause it to not play. Both DVD players ae functioning fine as i played another dvd to see if they worked. My only idea is that the disk is bad. Can anyone help?

Good band the Eagles are...btw does X-BOX even play DVD's? I thought only PS2 does. Look closey at the disc though for a scratch. It could be disfunctional.

Will it play in the dvd-rom of a computer?
If not the disc could be shot one way or another (perhaps just a manufacturig defect or exposed to heat that messed it up)

I dont have a DVD-ROM drive so I can't be sure, but its seeming like the disk is bad.

Yep-USA = region 1 setting. Mod chip breaks that though allowing any dvd region code to play. Its just to stop imports which is stupid anyhow IMHO.
