Worm detected, can't find anything about it.

I did a google search, but couldn't find anything on this worm that has inffected my computer. AVG picked it up in a scan, but I can't find it ont here web site. The worm is called Worm/Apsiv.A. I havn't noticed any slowdowns with my computer, no settings changed or anything. I don't even remember going to any websites i don't normally go to and i have only gotten email from techtv and gamespy sense i have gotten this worm. If anyone has any info about this virus I would appreciat it as I am curious as to know if this is really a virus, or a false alarm by AVG?

Thanks,
-Biz

Send a message via Yahoo to crystaldragon
the only thing I've found is that it is a variant of one of the downloader trojans

Whats strange is the live scan picked it up, a box came up saying that it was found in a restore point. But when i did a scan like it told me to do, it didn't find it.

You will have to shut down your system restore to clear your restore points and run the scanner with it off. I had the same issue with an I-worm warning. Also make sure you clear temp internet files as it likes to hide there also. AVG kept giving me warnings until I shut off system restore then scanned. BTW after clearing the restore points and temp files virus scans came out clear of virus (AVG and housecall)

BTW Worm/Apsiv is most offen seen as a P2P worm.
