Break-in time for new AMD 2500+?

Hello all, just got my new rig all setup

Is there a certain amount of "break-in time" your suppose to let the computer idle for with a new proccesor/pad (or paste, but in my case - its a pad). Also, the BIOS keeps telling me its at 37* C (which is okay with me), but every now and then if will flicker to 15* C
As long as it's at 37* C or below im fine with that, but the "flickering" couldn't mean that the sensor is broke, could it?

Thanks,
Unknown9

PS: Merry Christmas everyone!

the thermal paste does take a few days to finally set, but there isnt really a break in period for the processor itself. when i got mine, i started overclocking right away hehe. your temperature sensor does seem kind of broken, but check your temps with multiple programs to see if there is an avg.

If im putting something together with high performance in mind (eventual overclocking) i'll usually put it thru a series of loops stressing/burning in components at a default setting for a day or so before maxing things out...

I have not yet attached the HD, becuase i just wanted to make sure it would boot up fine (post, etc). So when I get my OS reinstalled i'll double check the temp's with MBM 5.

Thanks all

Wahoo, it's all setup and I'm posting from the new rig!!!

I know this is fairly simple, but its running at 1094 mhz. I need to raise something or other in the BIOS, what is it?

BTW, I'm running on PC2100 ram, not PC2700 yet. (I plan on running at 333 fsb mhz)

This is funny unknown and I both have 2500+ and got em running today. Its a shame though I wont have XP Pro on it till Sunday I think,

I believe you would raise the multiplyer in the BIOS.

Would anybody be so kind to tell me what to raise it to?

If i had my PC2700 ram, i would be sure to raise it to 333, but i dont......i have pc2100 right now, so should i raise it to 266?

Also, when i boot up it says my memory frequency is at 100mhz, whats this mean?

???

Select the 133 fsb in your bios for now its set at 100---

Hmmm---- now I see---is it a 333 2500+ by any chance?

Just run the fsb up---slowly approach and see if itl do 166---maybe you can ditch the other mem if what you have is up to it...
