Anyone experienced with Fruity Loops Studio?

I have the demo v.4---im wondering if I should *begin somewhere else, in otherwords with a more simple program---im attempting to rtfm for now and its pretty daunting---I just wanna create some simple beats to see if im all that interested, ive been listening to the channel "The Move" on XM Satellite and ive really been digging techno/beat/acid and related type tracks and how they are created...

Ive done some research and see alot of programs are available and some are pretty intense in their ability to create---I just dont wanna be turned off by a program not so suited for a noob---

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated if you are in the know...

head yourself over to the forums at www.homerecording.com/bbs

or the ones at harmony central are ok but populated by less experts and more beginners...not so great if you want advice.

there's a whole forum for cakewalk users over on homerecording.com so give them a go! just don't get involved in the flame wars on the microphones board!!
