DVD Player...

What is the difference between a DVD and DVD Progressive Scan DVd player? We got two for Christmas and we just got the Progressive Scans which cost a little bit more.

Progressive scan is a higher quality picture for HDTV systems. If you have or plan to get an HDTV set, that progressive scan player will give you the best picture. On a regular TV, you won't see any difference.

I have a 32" Samsung HDTV and don't notice a difference in either of the DVD players I have. One of them has progressive scan and whether it is on or not, I don't notice a difference between picture quality or flicker. Of course with HDTV you don't notice a flicker anyway.
