what is SmartMedia, CompactFlash, etc..?
Hey all, I am kinda new to all this computer tech stuff, just getting into it. Anyhow, my computer has a "built-in 6-in-1 media card reader" that has "high-speed USB 2.0 and Firewire ports." My question is, what exactly is Firewire?? Also, it has these 4 slots: SmartMedia, CompactFlash l/ll, MMC/SD, and MS/MS Pro. What are all these for?? Oh, and Merry X-Mas to all.

USB and Firewire ports are for connecting stuff like scanners video cams stuff like that. Smart media compactflash and those for usualy used in digital cams to store images and videos.
