Misc Image capture from movie?

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has experience in this field.

I use to know a program that does this very well, but my 30 free trial ran out, and I only need to do it once every month or two, so I dont think its worth buying the program.

Does anyone know a (free) program or how to capture an image/still from a movie, like, .avi or more improtantly, DIV / WMV?

Thanks for your time,
Steen.

PS: the great program that I used is located here if your interested: http://download.com.com/3000-2194-10...ml?tag=lst-0-1

PPS: Print screen does funky things for me, and in the end after a bunch of wierd stuff, the image jsut goes black.

What OS are you using?

If you turn hardware acceleration off (disables overlays) on ya video card you will be able to use print screen to get the image. Then once done ya can turn acceleration back on.

Easy done.

Right click on your desktop, properties, settings, then click the advanced button. Go to the troubleshooting tab, drag the bar all the way to the left. Click ok.

ANd there ya go, hardware acceleration is off. This should let ya take screenshots of video clips by pressing print screen.

Once ya finished be sure to go back in & drag the bar back to where it was (all the way to the right) and then click ok & ya back to normal.

I don't think you have to reboot when making this change... But its been a while since i've done it so yeh i could be wrong.

Hopefully this will acheive what you need... If not i may have an app which might work.

Might be a two step process. Those movie files supported by Irfanview can have captured stills. Use CamStudio to capture Windows Media to AVI. Irfanview supports AVI.
