According to Newspapers Online, in the Fry's ad tomorrow their is a 2500+ and an Albatron KX600 Pro for 119.99 dollars. Is this a good deal? And are the Albatron's any good or should I try to get a Gigabyte board? A guy working their infered ECS mobos weren't very good and those are usually part of the combos. But occasionally I see Albatron and GIgabyte boards.
well cpu is about 85$ online and mobo is about 65$ online so thats 150$ . its not a bad deal i don't think . as far as the ecs boards go . i personaly haven't ever had a problem with them , i have a frys 5 min away from me. i have used dozens of them in builds and haven't had a problem . if ya just want a pc then ecs is an ok board , if you want to "hot rod" the pc then no they aren't what you want .
Mainly going to be a server and thing to play around with Linux on but nothing mission critical. Maybe occasionally host a server for games with my friends.
then i would get the celeron combo or a ecs xp combo when they are about 70$ if thats all your going to be doing with it they will work just as well as a server and cost almost half
I saw a 2.5 Celeron and ECS for $70 I think. Do you think this was a good deal? They have good combos every week,so hopefully I can get one before the end of the year.
