Kids Is ddr 333 running 400 or 333 1:1 with FSB

I am running (2) 256 DDR( spec-tek) 2700 sticks, correctly in the slots the motherboard recomends. It does show up as dual channel, but I also have my ram running 1:1 with my FSB 11x200 so it shows up as 400 dual channel upon start-up. I did a benchmark using sandra 2004 and shows it is running higher then ddr 3200.

Question: Is my ram running higher then 333 or is it just showing 400 but running 333? I hate to keep posting new threads, but could not find a related topic. sry.

I'd say you're running RAM @ 400Mhz.

It should be running 400 MHz. You can CPUZ to verify the setting.

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Look under the memory tab for detailed information.

also found out that i was given to different brands of mem from same store...hmmmm (1) stick is Melco DDR 2700 256 mg and the other stick is Spec-Tek DDR 2700 256 mg. Can this produce problems, even though these brands are considered "generic" brands of ram? Thought by going to same PC store, they would give me the same brand.

no there's nothing wrong with mixing brands of memory but i would recomend getting some faster stuff since you are overclocking generic ram

Most articles I have read say to run dual channel you not only need the same brand, but matched pairs.
I have run non matched corsair with no problem.

If you're having no mem problems I guess it dosen't have to be the same brand either.

I've been using that same program for a while now. It is a great program, but I can tell you that it is Not always accurate. I've noticed the temp readings from that program show lower than the temp readings in the CMOS.
