can't change display resolution

I've got a Dell Latitude C610 with an LCD native resolution of 1400 x 1050. When I try to change my display resolution (yes I know it will look sub-optimal below the native res!), the actual resolution doesnt change, but the size of the image displayed on the monitor does.

This wasn't the case when I first got the laptop, but something has changed, but so far as I know, I didn't change any settings.

Thanks

Try the latest video drivers, see if they help any?
LCD screens dont actually change the resolution, rather have the resolution expanded to fit the screen, but it still shouldn't have a problem.

The latest radeon mobility drivers may solve the problem.

Are the proper video drivers installed anyhow? or are they the windows ones included?

Thanks Jeordiewhite. I did have the ATI drivers, but not the latest. Downloaded and installed them, and now have an option to scale image to panel size.

All is well...Merry Chistmas!
