mounting warcraft III the frozen throne

Just to start off I do have the original disk(from blizzard) and wanted to make it so I have a image of the cd on my hard drive so I dont have to worry about changing cd's all the time.

I have tried alcohol 120% daemon tools and I get the same thing please insert the original disk not the back up. Is there any way I can get around this.

Send a message via ICQ to washe
newest patch brougth a copy protection scheme around that image disk, securom or something like that, I remember well you need to upgrade to 1.13b to be able to use the daemos tools again.

but I still have one problem
I got it to work by mounting the warcraft 3 cd but launch the frozen throne but in doing so the autoplay of warcraft3 starts up.
Do you have any I dea how I can stop this from happening.

as for getting it to work I crated a batch file with this in it.

"c:\Program Files\d-tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0
"c:\Program Files\d-tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"c:\war3.mds"
"c:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe""
"c:\Program Files\d-tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0

I am sure I could have done without the extra unmount but hey it works for the most part.

not sure what else does it but tuneup utilties allows you to choose whether a drive runs autoplay or not (among many other things). i use this to turn off autoplay for my virtual drive that alcohol 120% created. if you have problems using the virtual cd to launch the game you may have used the wrong protection (datatype) setting on the image making wizard in alcohol 120%. you must use the correct one or the image wont work with the game correctly. what type the cd uses can be found out using protection scanning programs (you'll have to find these yourself).

Its been awhile since I've played that game, and a really long time since I made an image of my CD, but I think If you use alcohol 120%, rip the cd with the Securom 4.x preset and choose I think its MDS for the image format.

---edit-----

hmm, guess I didnt understand the problem fully before I replied.

Try uninstalled the game, and then reinstalled with the mounted image rather than the cd
