Kids Laptop Display Issue

I have a laptop that I just got, and it it set to 1400x1050. I want to set it to 1024x768 but when I do it shrinks the screen down to instead of filling the screen at 1024. The only way I can have a full screen is if I leave it at 1400 but that icons are too small. What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to reboot after you move it to 1024? The times when I have seen this, I would just do something like change the theme of the desktop to another theme and it would then fill out out.

1400 x 1050 could be it's native (read: optimal) resolution. When you use a lower resolution, it only uses the number of pixels required for that. LCDs have these little issues when displaying lower then native resolutions.

Send a message via Yahoo to TM12
You could take a look and see if there's anything related in the bios. Also, try the FN + Font key combination. It works on Dells but it's not permanent.
