will i notice a difference in sound quality?

ok, corrently i have a sb live 5.1 sound card and logitech z640 speakers. i want to upgrade my system and was thinking of the abit nf7-s. the only reason i want this mobo is because of the onboard sound storm sound. will there be a big difference in sound quality between the sound storm and my sb live 5.1 suing the z640's? if there won't be much of a difference, i would like to save some cash and go with just the nf7. ur opinions are much appriciated.

thanx.

Why not just go for a TB Santa Cruz (about $40) and save yourself the headache of swapping mboards? That card has awesome sound that no SB can touch.

i think u understood me wrong. waht i was saying was that im upgrading my system anyway so i just wanna know if i should go with the abit nf7-s or the nf7 and the only reason for me to go with the nf7-s is the onboard sound that everyone says is so awesome.

so is there gonna be a big difference in sound quality between the sb live and soundstorm using the logitech z640s? i know that the nf7-s has some more features but i don't think im really gonns be using any of them. the sound is the only reason i would get an nf7-s. otherwise, i will get an nf7.

I beleive that there about the same quality. I would save the cash and just get the normal version then later on upgrade the sound to an audigy2 or something.

But there's nothing wrong with the good ol Live 5.1, im still useing one over the onboard sond in my a7v8x. The only reason I want to upgrade would be for the latest version on EAX.

I can tell you that I am very impressed with SoundStorm. I love it...it is so much better than just any old built in sound. SoundStorm is compared to being as good as an Audigy...the only thing that beats Soundstorm by far is the Audigy 2, so I say use the Soundstorm.
