Ah.hahaha! Linus wrote some of SCO's claimed IP

For those following the SCO fiasco you have got to read this - Linus Torvalds says he wrote some of the files that SCO is claiming as their intelectual property -too funny!

#1: SCO doesn't own the copyright to the UNIX code in question.

#2: Even if SCO owned the copyright, Linus never used UNIX code to write his
version.

#3: Even if SCO owned the copyright and Linus had used UNIX code to write his
version, simple lists of identifiers and numbers are not protected by copyright
law.

#4: Even if SCO owned the copyright, Linus had used UNIX code to write his
version, and simple lists of identifiers and numbers are protected by copyright
law, this particular list of identifiers and numbers is an internationally
published standard owned by noone.

What were they thinking?

God knows what they were thinking. I liked the bit where they had to widthdraw all the SMP stuff as it turned out that Alan Cox and Caldera worked on this. Its just been a pile of BS from day one.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see a judge slap a gag order on SCO. But then again, they ARE their own worst enemy

seems SCO was just in a mood to gamble....then again, I also read where they have gotten a lottt of investment money (or partner money or whatever, lol) since they started the lawsuit.....you know, really, if you are any sort of controversial figure at all, that in itself draws people to you nowadays.
