E-Commerce Setup on Website?

I have two questions. The first one is, how do you setup up e-commerce in a website (shopping cart, service, ...etc.). You don't have to explain step-by-step, but possibly supply me with a good website company that offers e-commerce or maybe information on setting up e-commerce. I built a website, but know very little about establishing e-commerce (shopping cart, credit card transactions).

Also, does anyone know any good websites that have good free clip art for websites. Thanks!

Sorry, but I can't help you on the first one, I could give you some links to known free/low-cost shopping cart programs/scripts, but haven't used them so I don't feel comfortable promoting them since I don't know the quality of them.

As for your second question, to get great, high quality, high-resolution photos, you can go to http://www.sxc.hu/ They have free stock photos, that are also royalty-free.

And for clip art, you can go to http://office.microsoft.com/clipart/default.aspx - If you have Microsoft Word or any program from their office suite, you can go and d/l the clip art from there. Or, if you just want basic clip art, a simple Google search will give you plenty of links to royalty-free, and monetary-free clip art.

If your lazy like me, and dont like waiting even the slightest time for downloads unless your sleeping you just use the google image search (ive had people actually ask me how to do a google image search so here it goes... go to www.google.com and click images on top of the search topic insert)

Well, there's one problem...

85% of the images that look decent(the ones that you might wanna use) are NOT royalty-free images...

That means that using them without the permission of the artist/photographer/designer is subject to fines and even more.

I suggest that if you're going to be using someone else's pics/graphics, especially if it's for a business/corporate site, make sure that they are Royalty-Free images, and not just what anyone can find on Google Image Search.

So how does someone go about setting up e-commerce onto a website. I know that some companies may go through Yahoo Shopping (I believe). Thanks for the help!

What OS/webserver/DB are you using or want to use? This will dictate alot of what you decide to do.

You can look at http://www.oscommerce.com/ I believe that it will run on *nix and Windows with PHP and MySql.
I have messed with it and was quite happy.

Nice find Siliconjunkie, I can't find my php.ini to enable register_globals because stupid Windows Search wont work. OScommerce looks good and if you can set it up it would be the cheapest.
