I plan on orderin an sata 150 hd from seagate , I heard that I need a power adapter etc and an adapter card if my motherboard doesn't have an sata on it, is this true? any links to these items, also a power adapter. Thanks for your help.

you shouldn't have any problems with the add on card , but don't expect any real performance gains . sata is not really that much faster than ide . the difference is like going from ata 100 to ata 133 . the only time you will see a performance gain is with the 10k raptor wd drives , and even then it is small at best . so if the drives cost more and you have to spend money for a controler card and adapters and the only time u will see a gain in speed is in a benchmark test , you won't see the difference in the real word use, is it really worth it ?
