Apps minimizing?

I was just wondering why some applications, like games minimize immediatley when i start them. for instance, starcraft and when i try to restore its a pain in the a** to get it to come back up. Or when i alt+tab out of something, then try to restore it its hard to get back in the game. does anyone know why this happens? or any solutions to the problem.

if in "xp" right click on propertys for that shortcut . click shortcut tab & make sure "normal window is selected"

If you mean alt+tab out of a game well think about it, every time you exit the game it has 2 refesh to the normal settings on your desktop (i.e 800X600 pixels) then when you go back into your game it wil refresh into the game standards (i.e. 600x480 or 400 i cant rememebr)

If you have a good enough graphics card you could set both sizes the same and that would shorten the time between minimizing and mazimizing, but would almost never completely get rid of it. Hope i was some help
