Problem with Bios

Pressed Ctrl + f to load fail safe defaults on restart.

PC does restart but without display.

How do I get my display back and get back my old settings?

TIA,
Jim

Have you got more than one monitor socket?
Motherboard built-in plus an AGP card for example?
If so.. plug your monitor into the other socket

Get one long 2 short indicating -VIDEO ERROR HAS OCCURED - BIOS CANNOT INITIALIZE THE VIDEO SCREEN.

Didn't want to change BIOS just accidentally hit Ctrl+f

Do you have another video card you could try in it? Even a PCI one would do.

Try resetting the CMOS. Turn off the PC, unplug it from the wall and look for a jumper on the motherboard marked CMOS. You will either move the jumper from the 1/2 pins to the 2/3 pins or just remove it completely according to your motherboard instructions. If there is no jumper, remove the CMOS battery fro at least 30 seconds. Replace the battery or put the jumper back into it's original position, plug the PSU back into the wall and boot it up. You should then be able to load defaults and be up and running.
