Duke Nukem 3d sound problem

i went into setup and i cant seem to get the sound to work for duke nukem 3d ihav the Cmedia onboard sound. anyone know what i can do about it?

Duke3d is an old game (unless you found some update I don't know about) and it doesn't recognize PCI sound cards.

I got the sound to work on Win98SE with a soundBalster Live with SB16 emulation (emulates the old sound cards).

With Win2000, I've never gotten the SB16 emulation to load and maybe it wasn't meant to work for that. I never found anything on the Creative Labs web site for a Win2000 version of it. So, if you're using Win2k or XP you might be out of luck.

Perhaps there is an update for Duke3d. Isn't the producer called 3D Realms or something like that? I'd try their web site.

If you have a *MONSTER* computer, you can try emulating DN3D through Dosbox:
