Tron 2.0 and DX Invisible War Dilemma

I have the following games:

* Tron 2.0
* Deus Ex: Invisible War

I have the following Hardware:

* Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz with Hyper Threading
* Intel 848P Chipset-based Motherboard
* 800MHz External FSB
* 1GB PC3200 SDRAM
* nVidia GeForce FX 5900
* Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS

Do you think I have to correct hardware to play the following games? I'm just curious because it appears that any game running under the Unreal Engine is more resource-hungry and needs the following:

* Intel 875P Chipset-based Motherboard
* nVidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra
* Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS

Just let me know if I have enough meat to play the games. I know that with an Intel 848P Chipset, I was able to play Tron 2.0 without any major problems.

dude with that setup you shouldn't have any problem at all playing those games.. they should play flawlessly.. If they don't then either you don't have updated drivers.. or the game is buggy..

Tron 2 will work on that setup I can tell you right now. Don't know about DX, but I don't see a reason why not.

I do suggest getting the latest DirectX and nVidia Detonator drivers, if you want to get the best performance. Also patch the games as soon as they are installed.

With regards about the nVidia GeForce FX 5900, I'm using MSI's Driver Version of the GeForceFX, which stands at Version 52.14. I have DX Invisible War patched at 1.1 (reduces sluggish Mouselooks) and Tron 2.0 is patched as I speak.

Because I am using an MSI Version of the GeForce FX Card, should I use the MSI Drivers? Or perhaps the nVidia Drivers? A Computer Expert says that I should NOT use nVidia's Detonator Drivers due to the fact that I might not be taking full advantage of the hardware IHO.

BS, use the Nvidia Detonator drivers, that is definately why your card is not up to full speed, it isn't recognising the correct drivers, it's using the default ones.

the 5950 is only a tiny step up from the 5900.

Yeah, use the nVidia drivers. They are the most current drivers. The card is a refrence design, meaning that there is no advantage to using the MSI drivers over the nVidia drivers (heck, the MSI logo isn't even that good).
