2K Pro: closer to 98 or XP?

I'm installing a new graphics card to replace the on-bourd video. It's an HP Pavilion XE783 with intel chipset 810 graphics controller. The instructions I found on the HP website are for windows 98, ME and XP. The problem is that I upgraded from ME to 2K Pro a while ago, and there are no instructions for that. So i'm wondering if I shoudl follow the 98/Me instructions, or the XP instructions.

Page with the instructions for each type of OS: http://h20015.www2.hp.com/hub_search...bph06273&lc=en

Affirmative.

P.S. it's a Ge Force4 Mx 420 64MB PCI card that i'm trying to install... all that info is in much more detail n the graphics cards forum where I'm looking for help.

It might not be exact..(not sure about 2k, if it has "hidden" devices or not.....but W2k is very close to XP....Xp is based on Win2k....w98 has nothing to do with Win2k or XP...so the XP directions should be closer to what you want.

yeah dude, XP was built on the 2k platform. 95/98/ME are totally different than 2k!

i agree, windows XP is more of a relative of windows2000. if you notice in some of device drivers, the drivers for XP and 2k are the same. best example is the graphics card driver from Nvidia.
