Finance super stack 2 baseline switch

Anyone ever used a 'Super Stack 2 Baseline Switch (10/100)'?

If so, what does the LEDs flashing for a particular port mean and are they any good?

Thanks,
Koal

I am sure they are "good"...just because of the fact that switches arent that complicated..especially "unmanaged" switches. (I guess it is unmanaged). They are so standard its like wondering if this toaster or that one is good.....plus 3com is one of the bigger established names.

hmm my mate was trying to sell me one for £25... he says port 14 is messed and the LEDs just flash as the others blink then go off... just wondering if that port is busted...

Thanks,
Koal

3Com Superstack 2s are good. We use them at my work along with Superstack 3s and Cisco switches. I see no difference between them. If a port if bad, then leave that port unused and you should be okay. Managable/unmanagable isn't really necessary except in a business environment, so that the network people (like me) can do VLANs, port spanning and other nice things to help secure the network (and annoy the users all at the same time )

I [i]think[i/] the flashing port on a SSII signifies that port was automatically disabled due to excessive number of collisions, excessively long collisions, or a network loop.

Btw, many SSIIs I've used have been managed switches, I don't know about this one though.
